Description

The Center of Cypriot Composers in collaboration with ARTos Foundation is organizing the 1st Electronic Music Festival which will take place on 6, 7, 8 June 2013 at ARTos Foundation.

The festival opens with a lecture by Dr. Haris Sophocleous entitled “Sound Perception and Psychoacoustics” which will take place on Thursday, 6th of June at 18:30. A concert with works by the members of the Center of Cypriot Composers follows at 20:30

On Friday, 7th of June at 20:30 the festival continues with a concert by young composers and students (under 30 years old) with selected works. For this concert there is an open call to young composers and musicians under 30 years old until 25 May 2013 (more information below).

The festival concludes with a concert by the members of the Center of Cypriot Composers on Saturday, 8th of June at 20:30.

Young Composers call for music, DEADLINE 25/05/2013:
The call for scores is open to all composers/musicians under 30 years old. The duration of the pieces must be between 3 and 7 min. and must be marked clearly on the score or cd cover.

The works can be either: Tape composition (Acousmatic), Samplers, Live electronics (one acoustic performer) or with any combination of the above. The composer will be responsible to find the acoustic performer and arrange to pay for his expenses.
