Andreas Makariοu presents the new series of works entitled "The Myth of Image"

Makariou investigates the construction codes of the image by rewriting the myth and its aesthetic and psychological extensions. Myth has always been the favorite subject of Makariou from the beginning of his career, drawing primitive material and inspirations from its metaphors and symbolism. The myth and dream are the basic materials for the investigation of collective and individual unconscious, with all the symbols, pictures, shapes and ideograms.

The Mediterranean myth involves intense erotic, the drama, the conflict and captures the dramatic development of human. The painting work of Makariou, operates like a mirror with all images of memory and dream, creates his own troupe with timeless forms, directs his own actions that express the joy of life and love.

The "Myth of Image" will be presented in Thiseas Art Gallery on March 12, 2013 at 8pm.
