Description

Thereby Hangs A Tail (THAT) presents Kro!, an evening of music and prose with the participation of three musical bands and three actors.

The name of this gathering was motivated by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem The Raven, which answers all questions with the same word, which in greek means to caw, to screech and concludes with the question “ What do you really want to say?”. The answer is given at this first get-together of Κro! by the musicians Stelafi, Acapella Solo Loop and Stella Hristou and by the actrors Antonis Katsaris, Manolis Michaelides and Katerina Loura.

Stelafi, a year after the release of their first album «O Siderokoftis» will be presenting songs from their album as well as new unreleased material. The band’s line-up consists of Stela Fyrogeni (Vocals), Lefteris Moumtzis (Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals) and Antreas Trahonitis (Percussion, Loop station), joined by Marios Michael on bass.

Acapella Solo Loop is the solo project of Demetris Spirou, (member of the band Intibah and the theatrical team Υπόγα). It‘s a personal research, in progress, on voice as a musical instrument and the use of everyday things as sound accompaniments, all through his incredible craftsmanship of the loop station.

Stella Hristou will present songs from her unreleased project Nico, which concerns a study she did on “the reproduction of the species without the mixing of genes”. She is accompanied by musicians Pavlos Michaelides, Antonis Antoniou, Nikos Ioannou, Elli Aloneftou and Marios Nicholaou.

The participating actors will present extracts from various forms of literature of their choice. Antonis Katsaris interprets a piece from the “True apology of Socrates” by Kostas Varnalis. Manolis Michaelides will recite a piece from the poem “Sun Stone” by Octavio Paz. Andi finally, Katerina Loura will be presenting an extract from a text by D. Demetriades, from the theatrical production of Theatro Dentro, “65 minutes” by Demetris Firios.
