The Petronda Institute of Modern Greek of Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies (University of Cyprus) is hosting a discussion on the topic of "National identity and globalization"
Participants include:

Giorgos Karabelias (writer) "The defection of intellectuals."

Giorgos Kontogiorgis (Professor of Political Science, Panteion University) 'National identity and freedom: The challenge of progress. "

Eratosthenes Kapsomenos (Emeritus Professor of Modern Greek Studies, University of Ioannina) "Globalization and the Mediterranean cultural model."

Marinos Pourgouris (Assistant Professor of Modern Greek Studies, University of Cyprus) "The manicheism of contemporary thought."

The event will be coordinated by the President of the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies Pantelis Voutouris (Professor of Modern Studies, University of Cyprus).

Discussion will follow. The event is open to the public.

The event will be held Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 pm, at the Ceremonial Hall of the University.
