We are delighted to announce οur upcoming event featuring the composer Stavros Lantsias in his work ‘Diary of Dreams’. The concert will take place at Archontiko Technon (ARTE) on Monday, 15th October 2012 at 20:30.

The ‘Friends of ARTE Society’ is a non profit cultural organisation that promotes several events in order to give a new prospective into the cultural scene of Cyprus. The society gives opportunities to several young artists (painters, musicians, actors etc) to present their work and also combines together different genres bringing together all different forms of Art. So far, it has hosted some very important personalities such as the pianist Martino Tirimo and the poet Thomas Transtromer.
Stavros Lantsias was born in Nicosia in 1966. He studied classical piano and music theory at the Hellenic School of Music with Pitsa Spyridaki and then continued his studies at ‘Berklee College Of Music’ where he graduated in 1990. He there received the “Count Basie Jazz Masters Award for pianists 1989” and the “Quincy Jones Jazz Masters Award for arrangers 1990”. After Berklee he continued his jazz piano studies with jazz “guru” Charlie Banacos. Together with David Lynch and Yiotis Kiortsoglou formed ‘Human Touch’, a group that got internationally acclaimed and performed intensively throughout Europe.

Diary Of Dreams was originally commissions by ‘Patra Cultural Capital of Europe 2006 and features ‘Athens Camerata String Orchestra’ as well as several artists renowned artists such as Peter Erskine (drums) and Lars Danielsson (bass). Stavros will present to us several pieces from his work accompanied by Yiorgos Kaloudis (cello, Cretan lyra, percussion) and Andreas Polyzogopoulos (trumpet, flugelhorn).
