Description
The performance “Charcoal Project” will take place on Saturday, 8th September 2012 from 6.30 - 8 p.m. at the House of Arts and Literature in Paphos. The activity is included in the program of cultural events of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The performance is a continuation of the “Charcoal Project”, an interactive performance which Rinos Stefani and Susan Vargas organized last October (15.10. 2011) in the Buffer Zone, Pyrgos – Limnitis, Cyprus.
Based on the unity of opposites as a concept and using charcoal as a material Rinos Stefani invited six artists from Cyprus and abroad to participate in the “Charcoal performance” in Paphos. They were each asked to develop and present his/her own performance. The participating artists are: Dervish Dervisoglou, Chiaki Kamikawa, Stefano Paci, Iason Stavrakis, Rinos Stefani and Susan Vargas.
From 8 – 16 September in the House of Arts and Letters, Paphos there will be an exhibition of works by the above six artists based on the same subject and a video by Yiannos Economou titled “Pyrgos”.
