A delightful comedy in which the god of drama Dionysus himself appears. Disillusioned by the decline in dramatic art, he sets off on a journey to Hades, accompanied by his faithful slave Xanthias. Their adventurous journey takes them across the lake to the deafening croaking of a chorus of frogs. Dionysus disguised as Heracles, doesn’t seem to be too welcome in his appearance, gets into trouble and finally finds himself in the middle of a hilarious poetic contest between Euripides and Aeschylus. The winner of the competition may return back to earth. Xanthias, Dionysus’ companion, shares his unexpected worries with him…
