Marios Takoushis and Gabriel Karapatakis – in a new collaboration with saxophonist David Lynch, one of the most prominent musicians of the contemporary Greek music scene, Zacharias Spyridakis, a virtuoso lyre player of the new generation from Crete, and Stelios Xydias, an exceptional drummer from Cyprus – present their new project “Seven Miles East” with which they bring their lyricism to a deeper level and charter new areas of musical interaction.

Their ultimate goal is to further develop their music, based on the fundamentals of jazz, improvisation and individual self-expression. The source of inspiration for their original ideas and compositions comes from Mediterranean culture and tradition, as well as from the creative use of traditional ethnic instruments. Influences are inherent, while new dynamics are created by the co-existence of the piano and the fretless bass with the sax, the lyre and the drums.
