Description
On Monday 28th May, Theatro Transcendental will host a unique event at Melina Mercouri Theatre, in Nicosia, 8-10pm. The program will include the Greek premiere of our new production, ‘Here’s what I know about Humans, by Lulu the Dog’, as well as an original production created by our workshop students. There will also be an interval with tea and snacks offered, allowing the opportunity for discussion.
Entrance to this event is free of charge, as are the refreshments, but we welcome donations of any size to help us get take two of our productions to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Attending the world’s largest arts festival (www.edfringe.com) is extremely costly, but the exposure of our work abroad is an invaluable tool for the development of our future projects. The experience infuses us with ideas and energy to create great things in the year to come. With your support, we will be able to fund this trip with much less stress, and put any extra funds into future productions.
PROGRAM:
8.00pm – “Have I grown up?” – an original production by our workshop groups. Have we grown up? Or are we simply adults who cannot shake our inner children? Can we overcome the past? Or does it haunt us, sabotaging our development? (30 mins)
8.30-9pm – interval, refreshments offered.
9.00-9.45 – ‘Here’s what I know about Humans, by Lulu the Dog’. As we enter Lulu’s world, we see ourselves through her eyes, the eyes of a creature who sees humans as we might see divinities, who lives in awe of our species, wanting nothing more than the company of her own ‘perfect’ human. But what aspects of our humanity are Lulu’s innocent eyes blind to? Written and performed by Korina Kontaxaki, directed by Eleni Cosma. Music: Aggeliki Kouali
