Description

The Experimental Workshop for Creative Expression of the University of Cyprus and the youth group «Kourdista Mandarinia» are organising two cycles of 3-day workshops in collaboration with Theatro Transcedental.

Theatro Transcendental is made up of a group of artists from various artistic branches, collaborating in order to create productions and events with the aim of personal development. For more information, please visit www.theatrotranscendental.com

Each workshop is two hours long. Our aim will be to work towards a final presentation/production of our work at the end of each term.
1. Physical Expression/ Warm-up. Awareness of the body through physical exercises, yoga and vocal exercises. (30 minutes)
2. Theatre games, techniques and improvisations with the aim of self knowledge and the exploration of relevant theories*.
3. Presentation of one of these theories by the participants. Discussion and development.
4. Relaxation and mental practices. (15-20 minutes)

*The “theories” which we aim to dramatise are derived from modern psychology, the ancient philosophy of yoga or any other philosophy which guides us towards personal development and improving quality of life.

Workshop cycles: 24 – 26 February 2012 & 2 – 4 March 2012

Fridays: 19:00-21:00
Weekends: 15:00-17:00

Venue: University of Cyprus Sports Centre (New Campus, Aglantzia).

Participation fees: €50 (student) and €70 (regular).
