Emma works for a faceless corporation.
Emma is having an office romance.
Emma’s manager calls her in.

In Mike Bartlett’s Contractions, Emma battles to hang on to her dignity in a series of meetings with her manager, as she realises the company’s extreme guidelines on office romances…as outlined in her contract.

A dark comedy drama which, with every subsequent meeting between Emma and her manager, the boundaries of normal employee and employer relationships are pushed to the limit.
