Description

Theodoros Terzopoulos, the well known to all the theater lovers’ director, and the ATTIS Theater from Greece will stage Prometheus Bound, a performance which was presented at the Athens’s Festival, the Constantinople Cultural Capital of Europe 2010 and Essen Cultural Capital of Europe 2010. A performance which was commented by the critiques with praise, as all of Terzopoulos’ productions, is expected to challenge and as always create sensation. In the words of his mentor, Muller: “In Terzopoulos’ theater, myth is not fairytale, it is condensed experience; the process of rehearsal is not the performance of a dramatic concept, it is an adventure on a journey to the landscape of memory, a search for the lost keys of unity between body and speech, the word as natural entity”. Several of Terzopoulos’ performances have won recognition at international festivals, including the Bacchae and Medea after Euripides, Persians after Aeschylus, and Oedipus Rex after Sophocles. In 2005, brought Ajax the Madness after Sophocles to Poland as part of the 10th Theater Confrontations in Lublin.

Within the framework of the 15th International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama.

With English and Greek surtitles.
