Description

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra is giving a concert as part of the Community Outreach Porgramme, titled “Popular Classics”, under the baton of Cypriot conductor Yiannis Hadjiloizou. The concert will take place on Tuesday 31 May 2011 at Paphos Ancient Odeion at 8:30pm. The programme includes famous works of classical music by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Y. Hadjiloizou. The entrance is free for the public. Both locals and tourists are welcome.

W. A. Mozart: Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550: 1st mov. – Molto allegro

L. van Beethoven: Symphony No.7 in A major, Op. 92: 4th mov. – Allegro con brio

J. Brahms: Hungarian Dance No. 1 and 6

P. I. Tchaikovsky: Overture and March from Nutcracker

I. Albeniz: Asturias (Leyenda) from A. Guinovart orch. Four iberic landscapes

Y. Hadjiloizou: Traditional Cypriot Dance “To Drepanin”, “Le Valse de l’Amour”
