Description
The moon is our closest neighbor in space and this is the main reason that we are able to distinguish aspects of its geological characteristics. The moons geology consists of dark and with unspecified attributes plains, which were misinterpreted as seas by ancient astronomers, and of brighter and higher points. The moon is earth’s only natural satellite harmoniously synchronized to revolve with it. As a result, the same side of the moon always faces the earth. However, the moon is never visually the same. Just like any other visual stimulus, we perceive it according to our mood or any other context that engages us, our feelings, our intuition. Each time we look at it we focus on different attributes, being influenced by natural or psychological elements. The moon may become a symbol, a signifier or signified.
