Description

Asteris Gkekas presents his new work entitled: ''Shoes''. The Greek painter has been working with shoe lasts since 1990. He decorates them using various sculpting techniques and colours.

Asteris Gkekas' father was a shoemaker. The artist grew up in an environment filled with lasts, leather, soles and various shoe-making tools, which became his greatest source of inspiration.

The exhibition will be housed at "The Office", the art gallery owned and operated by Tassos Gkekas, the son of Asteris. Coincidentally, "The Office" used to be a shoemaker's workshop, something which gives to this exhibition another dimension.

The exhibition opens on the 5th of November at 19:30.
