Description

The Nicosia Municipality, the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Theatre Troupe “Solo for Three” present the 2010 Experimental Theatre Festival.

The Festival provides a platform for the presentation of Cypriot troupes that have performed productions of an experimental nature between 2008 and 2010. It is competitive in nature, and aims to contribute to the development of art and experimental theatre in Cyprus and to promote winning presentations at similar festivals abroad, such as “Off” in Avignion and the Athens and Cairo experimental theatre festivals. A special committee, which includes amongst others directors Stathis Livathinos and Yiannis Leontaris, will judge the participating entries.

The Festival programme includes amongst other presentations of “Blackbird” by the “Theatre of Times”, “Forget me not” by the “One/off” troupe, “Re-performance” by Theatre “Dentro”, “Alice in monster-land” by the “Point to Contemporary Theater” troupe, and “The American Woman (I Amerikana)” by Theatre “Skala”.

During the Festival the public will have the opportunity to visit theatre photography, costume and poster exhibitions, while DVDs of experimental performances will be presented in select venues.

Admission: €10 (single performance), €15 (two performances), €50 (for the duration of the festival)
