Description
Opus 39 Gallery presents Reversing Landscape by Theodora Papachrysostomou.
Representational art is the artwork that represents something, which means the content has an identity. Most of the people think that representation means only naturalistic depiction of nature, or realistic art about figures, landscapes or faces. But even if an artwork shows a human face vigorously distorted but still claims it to be a face, it is representation, as it is representing a face, in unusual manner, though.
Landscape: all the visible features of an area of land, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal. This is Theodora’s main idea. And her inspirational pool.
Reversing: make (something) the opposite of what it was. Nothing in this world remains static. Especially inside the head of an innovative artist. Things, ideas, modes of being, change. And changes in state are as natural as breathing is. So, Theodora attempts to reverse the landscape. Thus her exhibited works of art. A transitional journey...
Usually, the name defines the subject matter, and if it is given by the artist, which is the present case, then the works of art must represent what the artist wanted it to represent. If you are enough creative to link yourself to any specific work of art, then you might will have a look into Theodora’s mind.
