Description

Gloria Gallery opens this season with an exciting sculpture exhibition by the renowned Cypriot sculptor Leonidas Spanos. The inauguration will take place on Wednesday 3 October 2018 at 7.30 pm

Leonidas Spanos was born in the present-day occupied village of Agios Vassilios in 1955. With a state scholarship he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague for seven years, where he was taught by Professor Axmann. After completing his studies and having been awarded the title of Academic sculptor, he returned to Cyprus and settled in Dali (1983) where he lives and works until today.

Along with sculpture, Leonidas Spanos is engaged in the construction of traditional folk instruments, to which he has devoted himself in recent years. After many years he returns to the spotlight to present his latest art work at a solo exhibition. This is his 9th individual exhibition at Gloria Gallery, while his works have been exhibited abroad. The most recent exhibition was at the Teloglion Foundation of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki in 2016.

The exhibition opens on October 3 and will remain open until October 23, 2018.
