Description

Photos Dimitriou returns to Apocalypse Gallery with a new artistic proposition.

Photos Dimitriou was born in Famagusta. He studied porcelain and ceramics at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and obtained the title of Academic Sculptor. He lives and works in Larnaca since 1983.

He completed ten personal exhibitions in Cyprus and took part in many group exhibitions not only in Cyprus but also abroad. He participated in group exhibitions in Italy, Malta, Belgium, Greece, Australia, France, Germany and Egypt.

He works using and combining different kinds of material such as clay, fusing glass, bronze, fiber glass with originality and imagination.

He deals with a variety of subjects but the main and central idea of the most of his works is the human figure. There is a surrealistic atmosphere in his work that stimulates the human mind and imagination and at the same time a humoristic and ironic tend that puzzles the viewer.
