Performance (40')

Three artists, Annita Moyseos, dancer and artist, Maria Voniati, interdisciplinary designer, Christakis Christofi, art and theatre theory and practice, will produce a performance based on different elements (dance, movement, music, poetry, images, sounds, lighting, and props). The performance is inspired by the long-standing Cyprus conflict, a small island being separated into two parties, two communities, and by the efforts of re-uniting the island and abolishing the green line. The performers will put on stage, and by their mutual reciprocity, among others, the opposites: movement- stillness, light- darkness, sound- silence, and presence- absence, in order to convey the necessity of reframing our actual Cypriot status. The multiplicity of elements of both communities common background, as language, music, images and places, their mutual reciprocity, will show a history and a future of disaster or coexistence.
