Description
The internationally acclaimed Russian pianist, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, is visiting the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017 and performing in a grand concert featuring some of the greatest masterpieces of the Russian composers, Piotr Tchaikovsky and Sergey Rachmaninov. This is a unique opportunity to showcase the Russian culture as part of the programme of the European Capital of Culture Pafos2017. Vladimir Ovchinnikov is the sole pianist to have won both the top awards in the International Tchaikovsky Competitions in Moscow (1982) and in Leeds (1987). He has collaborated with famous conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Matthias Barnert, James Conlon, Alexander Dmitriev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Valery Gergiev, Mariss Jansons, Neeme Järvi, Yakov Kreizberg, Libor Pesek, Valery Poliansky, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, Thomas Sanderling, Maxim Shostakovich, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski and Sir Georg Solti.
