Description
“Idiosynchronism” was an art movement founded in Pafos in 2005. It was voluntarily disbanded in 2011 following its quinquennial. In its brief existence it attracted more than 60 members worldwide, including prizewinning artists, theorists, and art educators. It arguably engendered subsequent ‘coincidental’ art activities in a number of locations including London, New York, and St Petersburg.
We invite you to walk along these forgotten back streets of Pafos, where the atmosphere of the empty shops carries the sound of the recent economic recession. Find, if you can, the scattered artworks painted by two individuals who never met but shared a common passion for the movement of ‘Idiosynchronism’: The Divine Mother Hubbard and the late Jemima Puddleduck.
The exhibition is curated by (under the auspices of) Nic Costa, graduate of the Royal College of Art.
