Description

Τhe Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia and The Association of The Friends of the Leventis Museum present an exhibition of educational character entitled “A Journey into the History of Cyprus: through artworks by Despo Frederickou”.

The artist and teacher Despo Frederickou reshapes the past in images, symbols, allegories and creatively depicted messages, that visitors and especially children are called to interpret.

Paintings, sculptures and small art-installations, which were created during the years of 1965-2016, endeavour to travel us, as a retrospective artistic path, into the long History of Cyprus. The presentation of the exhibition verges on objects, events and people from the birth of the island to this day.

The event is held under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Costas Kadis.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Costas Kadis and by Mrs Fotini Papadopoulou, Trustee of the A.G. Leventis Foundation, on Thursday the 29th of September 2016, 19.30 at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia, 15-17 Hippocrates, 1500 Str., Laiki Yitonia, Nicosia.
