Screening of the short film ‘Anna’ in the presence of the director Spyros Charalambous.

A group of Philippino migrant domestic workers will participate in the discussion.

Description of the film: Mary, a 30 year old woman from Philippines works in a village in Cyprus. She is taking care of Mr Michalis, an 85 year old man with arteriosclerosis. Mr Michalis spends his time in front of the TV, watching and re-watching a soap opera with a lead character named Anna. He is becoming more and more obsessed with the protagonist, and starts calling Mary ‘Anna’, despite the comments of his daughter Melpo. But when Mary finds an old box, she makes an important discovery - the name Anna is of great importance for Mr Michalis…

The film is in Greek, with English subtitles. The discussion will follow in English, there will be translations in Greek if needed.
