Description

A journey with songs and poems written by Polys Kyriacou.

With the singers: Pantelis Thalassinos, Fotini Velesiotou, Evridiki, Areti Ketime, Eleanna Zegkinoglou, Eftihia Mitritsa, Anna Chrisanthou and Markos Giorgatsos.

Cypriot actors will recite the poems.

Polys Kyriacou has volunteered in numerous cultural and political events in the Greek Community of New York. He has organized several concerts - on a volunteer basis - for several non profit organizations and institutions, many of them with the well known singer and composer Alkinoos Ioannidis.

In 2002 Polys received the Cyprus' Broadcasting Corporation Third Prize Award for his song “Absence”: a song about the missing Cypriots as a result of the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus.

Several composers have composed on his lyrics: Al Di Meola, Pantelis Thalassinos, George Andreou, George Kazantzis, Stavros Siolas, Manolis Karantinis, Stella Gadedi, ONAR, Philippos Pliatsikas, Areti Ketime, Eva Loukatou, Eleanna Zegkinoglou, Karma and Demetris Korgialas

In addition to this, Greek singers have recorded and performed his songs including George Dalaras, Pantelis Thalassinos, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Christos Thiveos, Philippos Pliatsikas, Penny Ramantani, Stavros Siolas, Areti Ketime, Eftychia Mitritsa, Eleanna Zegkinoglou, Antigoni Bouna, Fotini Velesiotou Anna Manolaraki, Eva Loukatou, Yanis Kotsiras, Melina Kana, Evridiki, Yiota Negka and Doros Demosthenous.
