Description

arcube studio presents “the re-cover project”, a concept of re-introducing mid-century modern furniture to a second life-cycle by incorporating contemporary elements in their design. This process of dis-cover-y, restoration and refurbishment of furniture that are nowadays being discredited, abandoned in warehouses and old buildings, stacked in the corners of old antique shops or even thrown out as garbage, uses the unique characteristic of original fabric designs, created by arcube studio.

Inspired by geometry, geology, cartography, photography and world folklore art, our designs are digitally printed on fabric. The end result aims to inspire a dialogue between the two time-periods, thus re-introducing predominantly modernist designs to today's public, while combining them with contemporary techniques.

The re-cover project is presented for the first time at the City Plaza, under the umbrella of the Nicosia Pop-Up Festival 2015.

The opening party will be held on
Saturday 5 December 2015 from 18:00 until 21:00
on the 1st floor of City Plaza.

The exhibition is on until the 24th of December.

All the pieces are unique and will be on sale.
