Description

A satirical biographical play about two days in the life of one of the greatest Russian actresses: Faina Ranevskaya – “Faina. Bird soaring in the cage”.

Faina Ranevskaya is undoubtedly the most original actress that has ever existed, known for her scathing and cynical remarks which ridiculed all what is worthless, vulgar and tasteless.

In 1992 the editorial Board of the English encyclopedia "Who is Who" included her in the top ten of the most outstanding actresses of the 20th century.

People's Artist of Russia Svetlana Korkoshko (actress of the theater “Sovremennik”) plays the role of Faina Ranevskaya. The role of Lyubov Orlova, the legendary Russian actress and a friend of Faina Ranevskaya, is played by Evdokia Germanova, an Honored Artist of Russia (actress of the Theater-studio of Oleg Tabakov).

The play is filled with reflection, joy and sorrow, feelings, monologues, dialogues and unsurpassed aphorisms of the main character Faina Ranevskaya, accompanied by the nostalgic music pouring from an old radio.

Duration – 2 hours with intermission.
