Description

“Cartooning for Peace” is a project thought up by the French cartoonist specializing in political satire Plantu (his work has regularly appeared in the French newspaper “Le Monde” since 1972). “Cartooning for Peace” is an initiative born on 16 October 2006 at UN headquarters in New York. A two-day conference organised by Kofi Annan, the Secretary General of the United Nations, brought together the twelve best-known political cartoonists in the world for "unlearning intolerance".

The Alliance Française de Limassol with the collaboration of TEPAK University and the Institut Français de Chypre are organising an exhibition dedicated to the project « Cartooning for peace ». It will take place at the Cyprus University of Technology from Friday 20th March to Friday 3rd April.

Joint exhibition with Cypriot cartoonists works.
A call has been launched by the Department of Multimedia & Graphic Arts of TEPAK University to various cartoonists of Cyprus in order to propose a joint exhibition. These cartoonists will participate in this exhibition by proposing their drawings related to the theme “Cartooning for Peace”. This exhibition will display cartoons from the project “Cartooning for Peace” but also other cartoons by Cypriot cartoonists.
