Description
With Krama Ensemble.
Anadysi (Surfacing) is an ancient word in an ancient language, full of meanings and symbols. Anadysi represents the history of Cyprus, which – like foam-risen Aphrodite – surfaced from the sea... it represents its geographic location, its culture and music tradition. “Ana” stands for Anatoli, the Greek word for the East, while “Dysi” is the word for the West. In 1974 the history and the fate of Cyprus were determined from the Εast and a Green Line divided the island in two.
Anadysi is a journey through ritual music: music that accompanies marriages, births, mourning... A suite in three movements, which represent the past, the present day and the future not only of Cypriot music, but of the people of Cyprus in general. A message of peace and hope.
