ARTos Cultural & Research Foundation & High Commission of India in Cyprus bring the vibrant and rich culture of India to Cyprus through “NAMASTE INDIA: Festival of Indian culture in Cyprus” which will take place from the 31 March to 7 April 2015, at ARTos Foundation.


The various events will be held as per the following programme:

(i) Photography Exhibition from the 31 March to 7 April 2015, by Cypriot photographers entitled “India from my Lens” reflecting the social and cultural aspects of India along with a collection of photographs by Mr. Benoy K. Behl, a well known Indian film-maker, art-historian and photographer on the theme – “Pluralistic Culture of India”.

(ii) Exhibition of traditional Indian Saris of cotton and silk by Ms. Rta Kapur Chishti titled “SARI – The magic of Indian Weaves” – a collection of 36 saris from various parts of India. The exhibition will take place from the 31 March to 7 April 2015.

(iii) A performance of the Manipuri Dance – a dance form from the Indian state of Manipur located in the north-eastern part of India – by artists from the Narmada Cultural Organization led by Ms. Narmada Devi Khukanthem. The dance performance will take place on the 31 March 2015.

(iv) Film Screening – “Poetry of the Hills” by Mr. Benoy K. Behl, on the 2 April 2015. The film focuses on the miniature paintings of Kangra, a region located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on the foot-hills of the Himalayas.
