Medea is an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides, based upon the myth of Jason and Medea and first produced in 431 BC. The plot centers on the barbarian protagonist as she finds her position in the Greek world threatened, and the revenge she takes against her husband Jason who has betrayed her for another woman.

". . . Through Euripides 'Medea' we tried to find light in a dark play. This performance does not attempt to present a certain outcome but a research procedure based on one of the darkest plays of world theatre repertoire. It is a performance on how twenty people communicated on the solid ground of ancient Greek tragedy. Still, it is something more, a performance on the meeting ground of two civilizations, because these people were not all Romanian. There was a stranger among them, a Greek man, a foreigner in a foreign country just like Medea. . ." Yannis Paraskevopoulos
