Under the umbrella of the International Year of Astronomy 2009, the Cyprus Astronomical Society with the co-operation of the Strovolos Municipality, would like to invite you to "Astronomy Day 2009"! This event, the first of its kind in Cyprus, has the ambition to become a regular occurrence and to inspire people to step into the magnificent world of Astronomy!

Event activities include:

- Solar observing through special SAFE telescopes
- Astrophotography exhibitions from C.A.S. members as well as the world famous Anthony Ayiomamitis
- Workshops and lectures regarding various subjects of Astronomy and Astrophysics
- Night time telescope observing of the Moon and planets
