Description

Efi Savvides' solo art exhibition “silent barriers” will be on show from October 25th until November 8th, 2014, at Phytorio, Nicosia. It will then be exhibited in Thessaloniki at Yeni Tzami.

The exhibition is curated by Thalia Stephanidou, and consists of works from the series “Dwellings”, “Natural Chartographies”, "Trophies”, "Maktub" and "Papillon".

The ghost town of Famagusta has been the stating point for these series of works. Pencil drawings on paper, silk screenings on linen, prints on metal and tiles compose narratives of memories of a -small or greater- story.

The catalogue of the exhibition includes texts by the curator of “silent barriers” Thalia Stephanidou, Savvas Christodoulides (artist), Elena Stylianou (art historian), Maria Petrides (writer) and Anna Marangou (archeologist).
