Description

Like her prime sausages, Rita O’Hagan is full of mince, loaded with alcohol and past her sell-by-date.

Struggling to keep their heads above water during the horse meat crisis, pensioners Rita and Nancy plot revenge on Rita’s estranged butcher husband Frank who ran off with the bacon-slicer and Rita’s award-winning recipe.

Along with local, pregnant teenager Maggie-the three decide to put the only women-run Irish butchers back on the prime cuts map and reclaim the coveted ‘Best National Sausage’ trophy.

If only Rita can stop drowning her sorrows long enough to remember what she put in her original recipe, then maybe the trio can figure a way out.

But fortune throws them a lifeline via a misprint in their local rag that takes matters out of their hands as they use their feminine guile to lure in a different kind of customer.
