Description

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will give the 2 nd series of concerts titled “Young Artists Platform (2), the first step”, which was established during the previous artistic season and aims to give the opportunity to young talented musicians of Cyprus, following a competitive audition, to perform for the first time with the CySO as soloists.

In the two concerts in Paphos and Nicosia, the youthful impetuosity and talent of young soloists Lyusi Hovhannesyan (violin), Monika Augulyte (viola) and Christos Fountos (piano) will meet the experience of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra professional musicians. The young artists will interpret works of great expressive and technical demands: Mosè – Fantasia: Introduction, Theme and Variations on G string (orch. A. Hovhanessyan) by Nicolò Paganini, Concerto in C minor for viola and strings by Johann Christian Bach and Dmitri Shostakovich’s 2 nd Piano concerto. In the same programme you will also enjoy Béla Bartók’s Romanian folk dances and Jean Sibelius’s Andante festivo. The concerts will be conducted by the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the CySO Mr. Alkis Baltas. Welcome to support the young talents of Cyprus!

The concerts are organized in collaboration with the Youth Board of Cyprus and the Οrganization “European Capital of Culture – Pafos 2017”.

Tickets: €12 and €7 (18-26 years old and pensioners), free entrance for children under 18 years old.
