A tribute to Demetris Lagios by Diastasis Cultural Association with the Children Choir of Diastasis and the daughter of the great composer, Iakinthi Lagiou.
At the venue there will also be an exhibition with photographs and other material related to Demetris Lagios.
A native of the island of Zakynthos, with his heart belonging to the island of Cyprus, Dimitris Lagios was an important music composer, who played as well as taught music. Among the poems he put to music was Odysseus Elytis’s “The Sovereign Sun”. Lagios was dedicated to the teaching of the tradition of Greek folk music.
