Description

Cementography is a documentary about an art form that carries a Cypriot identity; a process starting from the idea on a piece of a paper, to the making of the mould and finally the celebration of a finished piece. Cementography as a term was coined by Costas Economou. This documentary follows the artist for over a year and documents the making of his latest works using cementography. This particular technique was originally introduced by the Cypriot artist Christoforos Savva and is still in use today by Costas Economou. The Museum’s Permanent Collection includes two cementographies by Christophoros Savva.

The evening will include an introduction to the technique of Cementography, talks from the two directors of the documentary and a discussion with the artist Costas Economou.
