The year 2013 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Albert Camus, the famous author of The Stranger, The plague, Caligula, The Myth of Sisyphus and The Rebel.

An unfinished autobiography was published in its original state more than thirty years after the death of its author. 'The First Man' introduces us to the childhood and adolescence of Albert Camus in Algeria in the early 20th century - the closest link to his mother, the search of his father, his brotherhood of the poor, the first sign of damage to Algeria by colonialism, the school of the Republic, the awakening of his sensuality in nature - but also the moment of writing work in the a background of the war in Algeria in the late 50s. Text pertaining to his memory, roots, his attachment to land and community.
