Description

A light hearted social satire which blows apart Swiss self-righteousness and inspires hope that is indeed never too late to make one’s dream come true. Since her husband’s death, Martha at 80 has lost the zest of life. In the placid Emmental village of Trub her friends Lisi, Hanni and Frieda are determined to get her back on her feet. They decide to help Martha realize a long-held secret dream: to open a lingerie boutique. Before long, the four ladies plunge the village in turmoil and put an end to the well established orderly peace and quiet. Martha’s son, the village vicar, finds himself trying to subdue the wave of sensual madness sweeping through his parish. Outraged by the news of Martha’s project and increasingly concerned for Trub’s reputation, the villagers spare no effort to prevent the shop from opening.
