Learn all about the Sun’s magnetic personality in an award winning presentation from a world leading professor. Two 30 minute presentations will be available in a specially constructed auditorium on Phinikoudes Seafront providing a spectacular Solar experience never before witnessed in Cyprus.

Using the latest images and movies, Professor Walsh will track the flow of energy from the nuclear reactions at the heart of the star right down to our planet. Along the way he will analyse the Sun’s magnetic personality, surf along shock waves in the solar wind and run for cover from solar storms as we try to predict the effect of space weather upon Earth.

As a guest you are also invited to view the night sky over Larnaka through our special equipment used by UCLan in Satellite Observing Missions with NASA. Trained experts will guide you through a journey to see the Moon, Saturn, Andromeda Galaxy and much more.

Larnaka Municipality and UCLan Cyprus offer you a pre-event opportunity to reserve a seat (subject to availability) and access to the telescopes which will only be accessed through a special voucher.
